That Winter Episode 1: Song Hye Kyo and Jo In Sung Meet With The Foreshadowing of Tragedy
‘That Winter’ premiered with an intense plot that left the protagonists jarred and in shock.
Oh Soo (Jo In-sung) is a well-known gambler. He lives with Park Jin-sung (Kim Bum), a self-proclaimed man of “living by loyalty and dying by loyalty”, and Oh Soo (Lee Jae-woo), a man whose name is identical to him except the characters, and a self-proclaimed scion of the PL Group.
One day, Oh Young (Song Hye-kyo) comes to Oh Soo. A woman whose life has been a bleak stretch of loneliness since her mother and her brother’s disappearance, she had been seeking her brother Oh Soo. Young asks Oh Soo to read the supposed letter from her own brother, and the story takes a tragic turn.
Oh Soo’s girlfriend So-ra (Seo Hyo-rim), an a-list celebrity, is an obsessive woman who ascended to stardom by prostituting herself to her sponsor. To keep Oh Soo within her control, she manipulates her sponsor’s account to frame Oh Soo for the disappearance of 7.8 billion Won.
While Oh Soo reads the letter, the police show up to arrest the unfortunate gambler. Oh Soo runs into the real Oh Soo (Lee Jae-woo), whose stories of being the PL scion was true, and while trying to escape the police the PL Oh Soo dies in a car accident. The gambler Oh Soo is also arrested, and at the moment, somewhere else, Oh Young receives a call that her father had just died.
